There is probably a problem with LiveUpdate. You can re-download and install LiveUpdate at the link below. When the link opens, click the + sign beside the version of Windows you are using and then click "Run It Now".

You can also go to the link below and get your updates by downloading and running Intelligent Updater. When the link opens, click the + sign beside the version of Windows you are using and click Run It Now, or to download the Intelligent Updater definitions manually, click Learn How. The only problem using Intelligent Updater is it is a lot slower than LiveUpdate.

if you are dial up (looks like you are) then browser must be running. I have never had to do it but you can go the symantic website and try it from there. If you have DSL then your norton may be corrupt and you need to reinstall.
