Babies differ in their napping needs - but here's a general guide
that applies to most babies:
Age _________Number of Naps _________Hours of Naptime
4 months __________3 ____________________4-6
6 months __________2 ____________________3-4
9 months __________2 ____________________2 1/2 - 4
12 months ________1-2 ___________________2-3
2 years ___________1 ____________________1-2
3 years ___________1 ____________________1-1 1/2
When should your baby nap?
Timing of naps is important. A nap too late in the day will negatively affect nighttime sleep. Certain times of the day are better for napping because they suit your baby's biological clock; these optimum periods balance sleep and wake time to affect nighttime sleep in the most positive way.

I have a 7 month old baby and I am lucky if he will even have one nap during the course of the day. If the baby needs to sleep, he will let you know, otherwise just carry on. One thing to keep in mind is that a baby his age should be getting 13- 14 hours of sleep a day. If he sleeps a lot during the night, then he might not need a nap.

Two and sometimes three. My little one is now 8 months and she naps at around 9:00 and 2:00 usually for 1hr to 1hr 1/2. Sometimes she needs a third nap but only if the first two were not long enough. At night she`s in bed by 8pm and up around 7am and up only once to feed. Best of luck!

my daughter just turned 8 months and my nephew is 14 months. A 7 month old should usually take one morning nap and one afternoon nap usually spanning from 45 minutes to 2 hours.
