No.
While I would consider this a very ineffective way of motivating an employee, I would hate to live in a nation that would enact such an invasive law.
Isn't it ironic that it would be the liberal "champions of freedom" who would be most likely to advocate such a thing.

No labor laws say you can't yell at employees, at least not in any of the states I worked in. But, besides the lack of complete and total respect this shows for someone is it really that smart to YELL at anyone? I mean, what if the boss loses it one day and brings his hunting rifle to work?
Further, how does this type of behavior help a boss manage effectively if he is derided and abused in front of HIS employees? Unless this was an isolated incident, I'd say your boss is not on the right side of the owner. Also, this is a clear example of unprofessional behavior. It ranks right up their with sexual harassment and if done enough could constitute workplace harassment and creating a a hostile work environment, which are laws in most states.

Not specifically. However, this kind of situation may fall into a harassing environment which is covered under the law.
No matter the situation, I try to be professional. You can get your point across without yelling and the situation you mentioned should have been held behind closed doors.
The owner sounds like a jerk.

You should write the owner an anomyous note and tell him that in the opinion of all the employees, he is a major sh&it. What he did is really unexcusable and someone should tell him. No law against it though.

unfortunately not, it is a bad boss that needs to take anger management courses. He is insecure at his job, and he is taking it out on others. The Boss above him should be told what this guy is doing.

It is not a law but general business ethics to not do something like that. Can you report that boss?

I doubt it.
That's just part of life.
We don't need laws to make us "feel" better.
