Depending on how old you are (like not too young to go to an R rated movie by yourself...), there's a series called A Song Of Ice And Fire. It's by George R. R. Martin, and I'm quite enjoying it. I borrowed the first one from my best friend, who loves the Ender series and is trying to get me to read it as well.
If you're not old enough for those, I'd also recommend Sarah Cooper's series The Dark Is Rising. The first book is called _Over Sea, Under Stone_. I love that series as well.

You could try His dark materials series by Philip Pullman - they are brilliant stories.
Amazon.co.uk review:
Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy astounded the literary world, reaping high praise from adults as well as children. The final book in the trilogy, The Amber Spyglass, was published to great literary acclaim, earning Pullman a place on the longlist for the prestigious Booker Prize and pushing the trilogy toward cult fiction status for both children and adults.

If you like mystery I suggest either the Grandma Dove series, the Cat Who series or the Mrs. Polifax series.
I also highly recommend the chronicles of narnia and lord of the rings series.
For some chick lit (I don't know if ya ever read that) try the Sister Circle series by Moser or Big Stone Gap series by Trigiani.

There's a futuristic teen trilogy that I enjoyed even though I'm not a teen. It's by Scott Westerfeld, and starts with Uglies, then Pretties, and finished by Specials. I loved them so much and wish it were more than a trilogy!!
Description of Uglies (Book 1) :
Tally Youngblood lives in a futuristic society that acculturates its citizens to believe that they are ugly until age 16 when they'll undergo an operation that will change them into pleasure-seeking "pretties." Anticipating this happy transformation, Tally meets Shay, another female ugly, who shares her enjoyment of hoverboarding and risky pranks. But Shay also disdains the false values and programmed conformity of the society and urges Tally to defect with her to the Smoke, a distant settlement of simple-living conscientious objectors. Tally declines, yet when Shay is found missing by the authorities, Tally is coerced by the cruel Dr. Cable to find her and her compatriots–or remain forever "ugly." Tally's adventuresome spirit helps her locate Shay and the Smoke. It also attracts the eye of David, the aptly named youthful rebel leader to whose attentions Tally warms. However, she knows she is living a lie, for she is a spy who wears an eye-activated locator pendant that threatens to blow the rebels' cover. Ethical concerns will provide a good source of discussion as honesty, justice, and free will are all oppressed in this well-conceived dystopia. Characterization, which flirts so openly with the importance of teen self-concept, is strong, and although lengthy, the novel is highly readable with a convincing plot that incorporates futuristic technologies and a disturbing commentary on our current public policies. Fortunately, the cliff-hanger ending promises a sequel.
