Do you remember any other things your parents were famous for telling you and you now find yourself saying to your children?

yes...my house growing up was like the Daytona speedway...i have 3 brothers and 3 sisters...The saying was ....Wait till you grow up and have children...then you'll understand what im saying to you....

Or close that door you didn't grow up in a barn.
Always tell the truth then you only have one story to remember.
Always kiss your mother goodbye before leaving the house This implied she might not be there when I got back so I don't say this to my kids!

Oh, you mean like my daughter does now? My parents were famous for the "because I said so" statement, which is something I find myself using often these days....my daughter is three :)

I remember going in and out but I havent said that to my kids yet because they are only 4 &2.

I will not air condition the whole neighborhood...or the poor kids in Ethiopia would love to have those green beans....food will not magically appear in the fridge just by standing there with the door open

Yes and now I'm watching my five year old son do the same thing and just wonder and wonder "How did my mom raise 3 kids?"
My mother had a classic one in her classic squeaky voice. My friend used to imitate her all the time:

Yes, I remember, I heard stop throwing your ducks around, those poor little rubber duckies. So I stopped. Then I stopped running in and out of the house, too, because my duckies were all safe and sound inside the house. =)

Oh my that brings back memories...I find my self saying theses things to my kids to...i think it is a mom thing or even better yet a woman thing because you always find the dad saying .. whatever or ask your mom...
I was always told to go potty...did i brush my teeth...one or the other...ect....
