She essentialy holds the title of Lady ____ until she's either married someone with an elevated title, or inherited her father's title if it is a title passed on maternally.

Lord isn't actually an aristocratic rank, it's a title - like "Mister". In the British aristocracy, any peer (Duke, Marquess, Earl, Vicount, or Baron) would be referred to as "Lord So-and-So". While his daughter would be referred to (in most cases) as "Lady So-And-So", her actual title would depend on her father's rank and what title she stood to inherit.

If her father is a duke, marquess, or earl, she is called 'Lady', like Lady Diana Spencer. If her father is a viscount or baron (hereditary or life), she is 'The Honourable', as in The Hon. Nigella Lawson.

It depends on "her father's title." If its a LIFE PEERAGE, she only gets it "The Right Honourable Daphne so-and-so" or Lady Daphne for as long as he is alive. If he was born a Lord its her's for life, however her children get nothing.
