I know its what you prefer but ........the word commode sounds bad..........where did this word originate from?

the name of the person who invted the toliet was named john commode...so that's where it comes from..and the saying i'm going to the john..hope that helped

The French have a word for everything. But it does sound better than crapper or john (both came from John Crapper or so it is said.) Their is also great toilette humor from a "toilette humor" search.

the correct term for commode is "water closet" but it is mostly what you feel correct
