depends on how tall you want to appear (maybe to match the height of your boyfriend) and what kind of outfit you are wearing.
I like the 2 1/4" heels, but I see a lot of 3" heels in the stores and clothes catalogs. Any heel (other than chunky) makes a female's leg look slender. If I wore the 3" heels I'd probably break a leg. There is no smooth walking where I live.
