The courses Ive seen are 4 years full time! Would that mean I would have to give up work? I also dont have any medical qualifications, and not very good normal qualifications. How would I get started? Is there any financial help? Any help is much apprecaited!

I have applied to do midwifery, i to have no formal qualifications, i am doing an access to higher education course at my local college, and there are single parents like yourself doing it to, financially it may be a struggle for you but if that is what you really want to do i think you can overcome that. Type in 'Midwifery training' in Google search, you will be amazed at the information you can get. You can either train via Nursing or without the Nursing but it's going to be a hard slog.
