A good marriage is one of caring and understanding of one another, the up lifting of each other and the sharing of life’s experiences. I have seen it with a number of my friends and also my family. Those people which are true to one another but I see it less and less as time goes on. People now a days are too self absorbed. Everything is me, me, me. They do not want to give but only take. There is also too much of a lack of respect for your mate. One should up lift and encourage always even when there is disagreements. Today’s media and society only encourage greatness of self and not of partnership(braking up the family). Family values are old and one should be free to do as one wants, with out rules. Like this, happiness is only temporal and you need to keep trying to make yourself happy. This a result of the braking down of family values. Want to be happy? Then be true to your heart and watch out for what today’s idea of being cool is. Happiness will come naturally and you will not have to keep trying.

My friend had one. She died of breast cancer but her husband stood by her, cared for her and never complained. He did it all, we were all in amazement in a day and age when people can stick someone in a home and walk away. He did the most loving and honorable thing, he stayed and loved her 'for worse'. So I guess that means a good marriage is one where you really are going to be good and loving to a person who is good and loving to you, and of course let's not forget respect.
