my cd drive is shot and i need to replace it what is a good cheap one that will read cds and dvds and will also write and copy cds and dvds i need it to work for xp its a desktop

Walmart has a web site (walmart.com) where you can browse and check the prices. the least expensive will probably be
Lite-on or a lower end Sony both at around $40.00. If you want to wait about a week Tiger Direct has one for about $30.00.
The walmart stores have pretty much the same thing as the website.
