Look at it and first of all get your image...that's what I always do...I look at a crap box or jar or something and think ...oooo that could make a wonderful moneybox or vase or something haha...
If I was looking at shredded paper I would probably get the vision of making a shredded paper curtain...it depends on your age but that would be cool and individual for a student ...(like me) yeah a curtain would be cool and a one off piece!
If all else fails buy a rabbit or hamster and line the bottom of his cage with shredded paper and put hay on top...

lots of ways to use it...Easter baskets for colored paper that is shredded, gift bags, hamster cages, gardens - the list goes on

We recyle ours. You can use it for bedding for animals,kindling for starting fires,some even utilize it for insulation, although building codes probably wouldn't allow it. My wife uses it to pack away all the X-Mas ornaments and glasswares. Go to a football game and throw it all over the place!!

turn it into pulp then compress it into bricks dry them out
and burn them on your open coal fire
