I'm 19, so am looking for all the usual things out of a place to live for when I leave home. Inparticular, I'd like great shopping, nightlife, affordable housing, good employment etc. Close to a beach and airport would be great too.
Am I dreaming, or does such a place exist?

California every time but don't expect the "affordable housing", ticks all the other boxes though.

I am 25 moved from Ohio to South Carolina 3 yrs ago with 120$ now I am buying my home. All kinds of work. Go anywhere right out side of Myrtle Beach and rent isn't bad I paid 400$ a month for a three bedroom trailer 5 blocks from beach in Garden City, SC about 10-15 mins. from Myrtle Beach where you will find all the night life also there is two Malls and two Tanger Outlets Malls all within a half hour away or closer depending where you stay I would recommend Garden City, Murrells Inlet, Surfside or Socastee all with in 10-20 mins from Myrtle Beach but alot less expensive. There is a airport right in Myrtle Beach. You also have Broadway at the beach where you will find all kinds of things to do and the Pavilion which is the strip all kinds of nightlife shopping their really awesome shops too. Good luck with what ever you choose.

Do some research on cities in upstate New York. I bet you'd find one that suits your needs!
