Which sounds of your past do you miss most :) ?

The voice of my father whether talking or singing or laughing, etc. I miss his stories and his music. I miss him telling me about our homeland and my mother, who died birthing me.

I have never even had the pleasure of hearing that accent again much less his voice itself. Romanian Rromani are just not terribly common. I miss hearing him speak the two tongues (Romanian and Rromanes), even if I was not good enough at languages to learn them.

I miss the songs he sang from my homeland. Ok, I am American so this is technically my homeland. But my parents were not American.

The sounds of the birds and nature which surround me. My hearing has been ruined due to a lifetime of not protecting it from loud noises. I can still hear and jealously guard the small amount I have. The worst is that the ringing in my ears makes it difficult to understand what my grandchildren try to tell me. I hope you still have yours and take every measure possible to retain it.

I miss the sounds of bacon frying in the morning, the fan at the foot of my grandfathers bed when me and my brother slept with him when we were kids, the rain falling on a tin roof , and my grandmother turning on the tv on sunday morning before church to hear "jubelee".

The train horn at night. i grew up by a train track and use to fall asleep listening to the horns of the trains passing thru at night. IT WAS A GREAT SOUND.
