I've heard green tea and alcohol shouldn't be drank. Be careful with sea foods. Don't eat wild meat.....(deer etc.). Ask your Dr. to give you a list of foods that are dangerous. My Dr. always gives me a list when I'm pregnant or you can get a list at your local health department.

As far as I know, there is no food that causes a miscarriage. Miscarriages are a bit of a mystery in the medical field. They find some reasons like low progesterone, etc. But I personally have never herd food being a miscarriage result. I have been told to stay away from certain foods due to the way it is processed or what it is because it can have possible side effects to your growing baby. Like, no feta cheese, no tuna, only shell fish, no Alcohol, no cigs, etc. I am sure you will be fine. Try not to worry to much. Else you will miss out on this time, which is a very exciting time for you! Good Luck!

You should consult your doctor about this. They usually have lists and handouts to give you and can ease your mind about this sort of thing. Also, most pregnancy books and websites give fairly extensive lists of foods to stay away from and foods that are particularly good for you at this time. I have not really ever heard of a food CAUSING a miscarriage. Try not to worry and stress too much, as this can also effect the well-being of your baby.

The doctor told her this happened to her because she ATE SOMETHING BAD...but then did not go on to NAME what the BAD foods were? doesnt that seem a little suspicious to you? Unless you routinely drink bleach I cannot think of a single food that would cause a spontaneous miscarriage like that.
Some foods such as: sushi (raw fish variety) contain Listeria bacteria which (if the sushi was not prepared carefully) would leave you VERY sick and possibly your baby compromised. Soft cheeses (like Bleu cheese) are frowned upon for other forms of bacteria that they MIGHT contain. Cold cuts should be avoided for their nitrates ...if you can find some that are nitrate-free...go to town.
All of the above named foods pose a SMALL risk to EVERYONE who eats them...its not like, you used to enjoy sushi and now after eating it your baby evaporates. Get a list of 'high risk' foods from your doctor....and for gods sake...go to a different dr. than your s-i-law did!

1. Take your prenatal vitamins - from your ob/gyn, as they have extra folic acid that you need for the baby.
2. Do what the ob/gyn instructs.
3. Get plenty of nutrition and lots of sleep - you'll need both.
4. Each pregnancy is different - for each person on earth.
5. Get plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables - and eat lots of oatmeal for fiber.
6. Forget white sugar, white flour and all soda - empty calories that you don't need.
7. Remember to take good care of yourself.
8. The Compassionate Friends - is online and has regular places where people meet - because they believe every lost child (from conception) needs to be grieved - and they are a great support group.
Avoid alcohol - yes none none and none.
GOD bless us always.

As normal food it is very unlikely. If one has a very strong allergy to something then it may be possible.
There are medications that will cause the loss of a fetus so she might have been given something without her knowing it. That is also not very likely.
The loss of a fetus is very common and nothing to really get upset about. just the way it is some times.

First of all congratulations. The fact that you're worried shows you're already becoming a mother lol.
Avoid alcohol, peanuts (man how I missed peanut butter when I was pregnant) soft pates, under-cooked eggs, shellfish, home made mayonaise andmake sure all food is cooked properly. Things like under-cooked poultry can be dangerous. Speak to your midwife or doctor and they can put you at ease.

I am sure there can be dangerous foods we consume, but the fact is and this is a fact, 1 out of 5 do and will miscarry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means every woman has a 20% chance to miscarry!!!! If we wanted to worry about all foods we consume, we could question almost everything including who handles the fast food we eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best wishes
