Is it telling you there is an error or warning you that the program wants to run an ActiveX control? XP puts a yellow information bar or a message box when a program tries to run ActiveX. In that case, you just approve the program to run ActiveX.
If you delete ActiveX, a whole bunch of things won't run and you will have to download it again.
Com files are stored all over the place.
