I only agree with your friend on one point and ONE point only! It does take a female and male to reproduce. But, homosexuality is not wrong. People need to worry about their own lives and what is wrong in them, and not worry about other people that are living their lives happily. Homosexuality is a decision on how someone wants to live their life, and if this makes the person happy, then their is absolutely nothing wrong with it!

Theres nothing wrong with homosexuality. I'm gonna make this clear to you.
HUMANS have the right, to love another HUMAN being. It's nothing about the gender.
Be a little more logical.
Well that was short and meaningful =)

The majority of the individuals who think homosexuality is wrong is because we have been brought up from an early age to believe that Homosexuality is evil and against God’s law. Additionally, some individuals believe it is wrong because of so many young boys being molested. I would like to take each argument separately.
First Argument: Homosexuality violates Gods laws:
The book of Leviticus specifically addresses homosexuality as evil; however if one was to understand the time in which Leviticus lived in if you were anything but a white male you were looked down upon. If you carefully read Leviticus, you will see minorities and women were looked down upon.
Man also looked up spilling their seed as a waste. Semen was meant for procreation. Male homosexuality did not cause pregnancy.
Leviticus is also known as the book of laws. In Jewish and Christian history (Old Testament) - God looks upon everyone as evil, Leviticus set about giving us the law so that people could go to heaven. But guess what - we are sinners (this is where Christianity comes in) and Jesus died for us to erase the sin we caused. Additionally, there are many laws in Leviticus that Christians do not follow today such as eating shellfish, selling your daughter into slavery, touching pigs, and wearing 2 different threads.
To move to the guidelines in Genesis and Judges - if you read the stories in context, it becomes more understandable. As mentioned previously - women were considered inferior and to be treated as a woman would be considered the ultimate insult. Jesus (when referring to the sin of Sodom) was destroy because of greed, injustice, in-hospitality, excess wealth, indifference to the poor, and general wickedness. Notice that the stories about Sodom were about inhospitable treatment to the visiting angel nor did Jesus cite homosexuality as a cause.
Paul. In the New Testament the so called references to homosexuality are the Greek words 'aresnokoites and malakos'. These words only appear twice. The Greek word arsen means man and koites means bed. Someone (?) decided that means homosexuality. That is like saying the word understanding means standing below. More likely the word means rape or exploitation. The Greek word malakos means soft. That is hardly the scathing exclusion for homosexuals to go to heaven.
Second argument: Older man molests children.
Anyone who understands the crime of molestation knows it is not a crime of sex; it is a crime of power and control. Sex is the weapon of control. Most men who molest deny that they are homosexuals. In fact, the majority of them are married. Most priests who molest go into the church knowing they have access to children. It is not a homosexual crime.
I know this was pretty long but I felt you deserved a thorough answer.
Good luck

Its wrong if it doesn't feel good to you. Seriously though, since when have we had a people shortage? The only reason it is perceived as wrong is because the Israelites needed a boost in their population when they left Egypt, so it became a (gasp!) abomination. I have no idea what my neighbors do in their homes, and quite frankly, I don't care. All that matters is how decent a person is to other people.
Live and let live! Cheers to all good people!
Hmmm...the coffee has finally taken its hold on me...

Why don't you remind him that many straight couples can't have babies and we still consider their relationships "right." Also, our post-menopausal grandmas can't have babies, so should they also divorce their husbands and live in a convent? Your friend is being very naive here. If he is arguing for religious reasons, have him look at this website:
http://www.godmademegay.com
It might clear a few things up for you and him.

Is being closed minded, being a religious person that kills people in the name of God wrong ? Yes! But being gay -NO. That's like saying that people born blind, limbless, deaf, etc are wrong too. Gays are born gay-God made us too.
