I just don't think he's gonna be traded since he said he doesn't want to be a rent a player. Let me know.

I'm guessing that Philadelphia will trade him for a playoff run with someone and then he'll re-sign with Philadelphia after the playoffs. I believe this seems to be the best of both worlds, dump some salary for this year and build for the future at the same time. Forsberg knows that and he knows playing for someone else for 3 months gives Philly a better shot next season. Expect him to drop the no trade clause and be loaned out for the playoffs after which he'll be back in a Flyers uniform for next season.

He will get traded and contrary to reports he wants to stay think about it...why would he not want to accept a deal to a Cup contender and possibly win another Cup. That is why he (and all other players for that matter) even bother to lace them up. If he were dealt today he would only take up 1.2 mill. of his new teams cap (salaries are pro-rated over the course of the season) so he would be a relatively cheap rental. Because he is a free agent after the season he could very well work out a deal privately with the Flyers to return next season even before he is dealt so if he really wishes to return it would be a simple task to complete. So he gets the best of both worlds...he can take another run at the Cup and then return a few months later to the team he wants to play for (and he will have helped the Flyers get a player/players/draft picks that will make them better than they currently are). He has agreed to waive his no trade clause so now it is a matter of getting the best deal done. There are a few teams with cap space available and the front runners will likely be the Red Wings as they have a history of trading away 1st round picks or the Hurricane as they have depth at D and the Flyers need to revamp their defence more than anything else.

it was all up to Peter Forsberg cause of his No trade clause. Forsberg had a NO trade clause on his contract but as of last week he has given the Flyers the OK to talk with other teams. Carolina and Detroit will be mostly the two top teams to get him, not for much players as for more draft picks and young prospects. so the flyers can go in to rebuild mode.

ahl_phant...>>>>that interview was over almost 2 weeks ago allot can happen in two weeks, like Forsberg has waived of his NO trade clause.

Any team that is thinking about getting him needs to look at the 'long picture'. That would be a lot of money for a player that you don't know how many games you will get from him. He is always injured. He hasn't played half the season. With a salary cap do you really want to put that much on the line for a player you don't know if he will play? Yes, when he plays he is the best there is but what if he can't play? Money wasted.

Yes they have no choice. Peter Forsberg would be a real addition to any team who is in playoof contention. The Flyers want to build aroung Simon Gagne

ok, i will spit into the wind and say no, he's staying placed. why? bc he's a organic chief and a 2 way participant. as philly rebuilds they are going to need somebody to steer the greater youthful adult adult males. besides maximum of their problems have come by using harm and that they have got been enjoying o.k. on the grounds that forsberg got here back. i propose they lost to the devils in ot final week yet scored 5 on brodeur and led a lot of how. in the event that they made a pair of smart signings, particularly on d, in the offseason, they could be back in the postseason next year.

I don't think they will trade him. I think he will stay in Philly as they are talking about getting free agents this off-season to build around him. Check the interview link below with Forsberg and Holmgren.

i don't know. he's good and all that, so that would be a reason to keep him, but i also agree with the first anwser: they need new/ young players, so even though he might want to stay with one team for a very long time, that doesn't mean he will. i think eventually they'll trade him for a new/ younger player, but really don't know how long that'll be!

I think they will, because they need a good young player and some prospects.
