Far from being the door-to-door direct sales plans of yesteryear, the better one's have been updated to take advantage of the web, courier deliveries and modern business practices to become virtual businesses, where you purchase for your own account, and get other people to do the same.
As anywhere else in life, you will get the schemers, so be on the lookout for schemes where you have to make large joining fees, or make large stock purchases up front. You shouldn't pay more then GBP100-200.
Be on the lookout for something with an excellent training system, a wide variety of products, and a long history. I have been with Amway for a couple of year's, and they are an excellent company, with more than 3 million Independent Business Owners that have renewed at least once.
