I give us about a thousand years. If we haven't nuked ourselves out of existence by then, we may have a shot at actually growing up into decent human beings.

I feel that the human race is endangering itself based on the courses we are currently set on. THe environment, CFC damage, political unrest, the greed caused by capitalism, religious intolerance, etc.
Many feel that the US is an invincible superpower that will always be crucial to the world benefit. However, based on history, all empires fall. The Romans fell, the Greeks fell, the Egyptians fell, Babylon fell. Until recently, did humanity actually
have the capability to literally destroy the earth, based on nuclear power. Thereliance on fossil fuels has gradually deteriorated the environment over the last century, far more than in the entire course of humanity up until this point. AIDS is still not curable, and couldresult in a global pandemic given the appropriate conditions.
I do not mean to sound dismal, but I think that the entire human condition must re-evaluate itself in order to right the ship. I would predict that humanity could potentially begin irreparable courses to extinction within the rext 500 years, if threats are not taken seriously. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

Never.
Human beings have within their present technology the ability to get into space. We have a political climate that makes all out nuclear war almost impossible, despite having the capability, due to how many nations simply would NOT press the button, even if another country started it. Given sufficient pressure, we will spread to the stars and our species, however changed by new environments, will continue.
At the same time, our species is already changing, and there comes a time when we have to admit we are no longer, biologically or otherwise, like the men who built the pyramids, or filled the plains and valleys of China thousands of years ago. The most obvious change is in Asian people who are exposed to a variety of foodstuffs and growing to nearly a foot larger than their parents. Other factors will slowly change us until we are as different from Homo Sapiens Sapiens, as they were different from Cro-Magnon or even Neanderthal man.
What an age we live in.

Don't worry, we or our children won't live to see the end of the human race... fortunately. I think we will degrade ourselves up until the next millennium or so. The human race will have a death as horrible as the things it did on this earth, judging by divine justice. But than again, all things come to an end, and frankly, humans deserve an end, it's not like we've been the greatest thing that happened to this earth anyway...

New potential supplies and the form of particularly some hyper drives may additionally supply promise to our survival sooner or later..that's a warning for us to make differences now or run the possibility of extinction and that i think all of us understand what needs to accomplished..:)

This question is impossible to answer becausse at ANY given moment, an asteroid could strike earth or the Sun could explode. There is a 0.00000000000001% chance these will happen but they could still happen.
