What type of video does a video ipod play?

My ipod continuously says that it can't copy a file because it is not the correct file type - so what the hell is?

Its a type of MP4 called M4P. You will be able to convert to this type with Quicktime Pro or using Pocket DVD Studio. If the video was downloaded via iTunes, then there is an option to convert for iPod within the program.

I really don't know what exact type of video, but iTunes automatically converts the video for you. Just insert videos to your computer and when you open iTunes you choose movies option and there you have them. To insert them into your iPod right click on the one you want to add and choose convert selection for iPod and there you go.
