Just got a leather bag for my laptop. What can I place on it to protect it?

Its a Kenneth Cole bag. Is there a lotion or spray that I can use to waterproof and protect it from the elements? If so where and what can I use?

it comes in a spray bottle they have many different brands but its normally called LEATHER PROTECTANT
