just because we don't understand it, doesn't mean there's something wrong with it. it's like watching any normal tv show to them. seeing these characters, which are a lot more realistic than other cartoons, they can imagine in their head what they'd look like as a real person. and maybe they like their character on the show. to them, they aren't really a cartoon.

there is nothing wrong with liking anime, everyone is different in his or her own way, so turly there is no need for these...'ppl are freaky these days', 'those people need a effin life' and 'nerds!' comments.
it because of these comments some people just dont no where to turn or who to turn TO. so they go to some thing that is like them e.g. the anime character(s), and so they dont open up about anything else but anime at times, and also at times they r adused about it, and believe me I speak from expirence coz the same thing happened to me in my secondary school! and now i have got other ppl to watch anime(and im in college now) and ppl love the anime drawings i do.
I bet some people here have a secret that they dont wont others to no about. for example...i could say...Gays?? Whats wrong with ppl these days???? (and for the record i have NO problem with Gays since i support Gay Rights) and i could get pretty much the same comments that r on here, and those comments could put such a downer on ppl who r gay. (nothing to do with anime i no but it is still pretty much the same thing)
and i agree with mangamatrix2000 saying 'Its not what's wrong with those people. It is what wrong with our world today.'
but the problem with our world today r ppl who no NOTHING about the topic and say things before they've even tried and have a go. coz there could very well be a deeper meaning to things then anyone would or could see!
so dont jump to conclusions if you dont have your facts striaght!
and think twice and have a go before any of you jump a head!

Well there are some people who have real issues and are slightly obbsessed. They're the people who need a life But others just end up thinking that a certain character is good looking or beautiful. Its just minor and it never has an affect on people. Except for the ones who get obsessed and fantasize all the time.

Easy. It's because they can see their dreams live in animes.
If u deeply delve into most of those popular animes such as Naruto, Bleach, and Fullmetal Alchemist (of course, they r my favourites), u might see life in a lot different ways (and those anime are stuffed with creamy real-life philosophy that only blossoms in a different world).
Its not what's wrong with those people. It is what wrong with our world today.

and how is this different from having a crush on "celebrities," both are fake, both are made of plastic, when in 3-D, both are fake with no real personality,,, to me there is no difference,,, besides who can deny that Jessica Rabbit wasn't a hot redhead.

That just means they really like there appearance or character..jeez don't take it too literally. Same thing as in books.
