itune help plz read?

whenever i plug my ipod in and try to update it it says itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close but it only does it with the ipod with itunes open its just fine i have uninstalled it and installed it a couple of times why is this

it is the latest version and i have the new ipop video 30 gig

Itunes sucks . I dont use it to download stuff for my Ipod .

Is this the latest version of iTunes? sounds like the software on your iPod is corrupted.. you may need to re-install it.
