what is night life like for family with 10 and 11 year old children in cairo.Are there any bars,discos that children are allowed or do you have to stay in hotel?

There are many things you can do in Cairo at night. Under 21 years are not allowed to sit in bars or drink alcoholic drinks. It's not allowed also in discos, but in Cairo many discos may have an early party for teens. They can go in that one. Also if your hotel has a disco they may let you take them for sometime there in case they are not much naughty or active and you will be with them. This is an exception that may be done or not.
I recommend you to take them for dinner outside the hotel. You will have many choices for that and you can spend long time as you like as Cairo never sleeps. Cruise restaurant in the Nile is my recommendation. You have many categories and prices. Take Nile Pharaoh or Nile Maxim. Other choices like (city stars mall) in case you like shopping in a good place beside some activities for children. It's fun but not sure it'll be near to your hotel.
Also it's good you can all visit Khan El Khalily area and set in an oriental cafe there. Felucca on the Nile can be also available if you sleep early.

Well really alcohol and gambling are against Islam. Egypt is a Muslim country. Nearly 99% of the population there is Muslim. Alcohol is in Egypt because of the stupid Egyptain president. I don't live in Egypt. But no as long as you dress modestly you should be fine. Cairo is safe. I think you can do pretty much whatever you want there however except drink or go around drunk outside. And I wouldn't take a 10 year old and an 11 year old out to a bar. Also stay away from the poor sections of Cairo. Don't wear skintight clothing or anything that shows your figure. If your a woman and you have a daughter feel free to visit some mosques but wear hijab to cover your hair. Christians and Muslims get along fine in Egypt.

you want quite everyone to approve on the way you stay. you've been married 3 situations and now you've yet another boy pal. you're taking no blame in any respect by technique of your own admission. i am more familiar with luxor than cairo but in my exprience children are welcome everywhere and tourists are welcome in any hotel or club whether they are staying there or not. it is quite normal to eat out in restaurants in other hotels you are not staying in
