There are many different answers to this question depending on the level one is speaking about. Love is energy, the energy which creates worlds. It is the energy which gives life, which causes the quantum particles in matter to vibrate, and that includes thoughts since thoughts are energy and energy cannot be destroyed. This is a key understanding.
On all other levels it is a matter of interpretation by those levels.
When this energy is resisted, the result is a lack of it. ie. darkness is the absence of light, evil the absence of good, meaning what a particular entity wants.
To more specifically answer the question, no, love is not a state of consciousness since consciousness requires awareness and this is a rare commodity even at a lower level. Love is eternal and exists whether anyone or anything is conscious of it. The reason the emotions figure so much in the picture is simply that emotional energy vibrates at a much higher speed when positive or negative. It feels super good and it`s absence feels super bad. We either want it, or we don`t want it`s absence, however this is a mistake since focus on the subject of the desire (here, the absence of love) can only attract the absence of love.

Love is an emotion without any boundary. It depends on the person and hence highly personal. It may be limited to the state of consciousness for some. Love is the most wonderful emotion which makes this universe a beautiful place.

Is pure consciousness. Coz love is not euphoria of seconds or days or months. I think it is a commitment we make. Love with ur life partner or spouse may be different from what you have for your family. But then again, the depth/height of your love will be defined by your commitment towards the relationship.

So when you get involved with some one young and beautiful and have some great time together it surely is a ephemeral state of un consciousness in love, but once the initial phase of discovery gets over and you get used to the person, life is back to normal, then the only thing that keeps you going is commitment and sense of responsibility that is a direct product of the feelings you had for this person. The feeling is LOVE.

Everyone dreams to live a life he/she loves and that life is with their loved once. So when you dream you desire, when you desire you agree to take the responsibility involved with that relation ship.

And this has be done with adequate amount of planning and thinking. So if you start thinking and then it has to be done in state of consciousness.

Love is very much a state of consciousness. Love is the soul of life and without it purposeful life is not possible.Consciousness is the integral part of a purposeful life, and hence love is a state of consciousness.

Love is many things depending upon how you frame the question. People have a lot invested in the idea of love and have thought about it in many different ways. If love is something that happens to you, you can think of it as a state of consciousness. But if love is a relation between two people, each devoted to the other, than love is greater than the solipsistic self.

Love is the road towards self realization. A person in love is endowed with a hell lot of responsibilities. Also, Love becomes a motivational factor for him. A person feels like dreaming, wants to fulfill his dreams, the more purely he gets involved in love, the more stronger he feels within himself.

But the only problem is his own ego and greed. A person starts expecting things from the other involved in love, after a moment he needs recognization by the other as a lover. This is where things go wrong. We get hurt cos we expect. If we only think about taking up our responsibilities and do what we are supposed to do we would be rather satisfied.

There are a hell of lovers out there claiming that they can't think of anything else but there love. They are not able to concentrate on their studies, their career, their personal life, etc. This is because they develop an urge to win the other person anyhow. Their mind leans towards this other need of theirs badly. And trust me, that hurts. If you love really someone, prove you are worthy enough for him/her. Realize your positive and negative aspects. Improve yourselves. You cannot win your love by losing your identity, can you?

:-)
