Money can make some happy, but as grandma says, don't let it be your only ambition and source of happiness in life.

I already have all the money I need. I'm not rich either. Having a bigger house, a better car, more money in the bank would only make me slightly more happy. It's not worth the pursuit. All I really need is a roof over my head, and food to eat. Everything else is just a bonus.
Once you get the necessities that you and your loved ones need to physically survive, it comes down to psychology. There are people that are very rich, that are miserable. Then there are people that are poor, that are quite happy. If you dwell on the notion long enough that materialistic things will make you happy, and you never learn to be happy without them, then only money will make you happy.

I think money makes the world go around. Everyone is all about bling bling, and the media has hyped up celebrities in the past 7 years. I don't think alot of money will make you happy, but I KNOW having NO money sucks too. I think you have to have an even balance, but everyone is different.

The Bible describes money as a protection of limited benefits:

(Ecclesiastes 7:11-12) “11 Wisdom along with an inheritance is good and is advantageous for those seeing the sun. 12 For wisdom is for a protection [the same as] money is for a protection; but the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom itself preserves alive its owners.”

The trouble is most people have a love of money and that is a major loss of happiness, please note:

(1 Timothy 6:10) “10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains.”

So just the reaching out for too much can be detrimental. Not that to have it is necessarily wrong, although J. Paul Getty(oil baron) said that having it has led to his unhappiness, but there are indeed dangers.

I have to be honest, seeing that 'u' in this category makes me wonder whether we were all inclined to Philosophy.

Anyway, besides that, money does make me happy all the time that I can feed my family with it. But into a lot of considerations, money brings forth ephemeral happiness. It's not the kind of happiness that will leave my heart forever full and never be empty again.

Depends on how vain one is. The more vain a person, the more likely money would make that person happy. For others enough to pay the bills and have some spending money to buy everyday items is enough. For others, those who suffer from excessive vanity, they need BMWs and a huge house in the nicest neighborhood to make them happy.

Money can help you get thinks and live a life that will make you happy but money in itself cannot make you happy after all it's just paper and you'll never have enough

I'm not a materialist, but I think that money will make me happy, because I need it to go to college. If I don't go to college, I won't be able to do the job I want to do, and then I'll be sad and depressed. Unfortunately, that's the way it goes.

Having money to buy all one can buy with money will make you happy because you will be able to buy all you can buy with money and that's about it!0!

Now, will you still be happy when you're done buying stuff?

Or are you happy when you're not buying stuff?

Will you ever stop buying stuff?

AND, would you still be happy if you didn't have the money to buy stuff?

You think about that!0!

It's not the money or possessions that make you happy..it's the security money causes. But, no matter what, money runs out eventually. The wealthy are only wealthy because they make good financial decisions.
