Yes! People who tell you otherwise are liars and/or idiots.

I've been poor and although I'm not rich, I'm a damn sight better off with than before. Am I happier as a result? Bloody right I am. Happiness is 'amorphous'. By that I mean it is a feeling and feelings are byproducts of other things. It's damn hard to be happy when you can't afford things or get out of a particular environment that you hate. It may not help ward off disease and old age, but it can make sure you get the best care in the best surroundings possible. The list is endless. Only fools or those who have never had it rough would tell you differently.

Have to? No. Having money can allow you to do some things that can be fun, but it is not a dead requirement to have fun and be happy. Family interactions, friends, and even quiet time can all be times for being happy. Reading a good book.... taking a bike ride... answering questions to try and help others.... these are things I like to do and make me happy in thier own way. In some cases I find some "happy" when I volunteer at the local animal shelter as well....and some days it rips my heart to pieces seeing the conditions of some animals.
Find the things that you like to do, and do them (providing no illegal activities are done) and have fun in doing them. Perhaps just sitting and listening to music is a calming happy time for you.... perhaps you are a really outdoorsy type, and hiking and camping is your fun. Go for it!

Love and stuff like that makes you happy. But there is no way to be happy without at least some money because finances is the number one reason for divorce in America followed by infidelity

Some say, "Money is the root to all evil" I think also this is true, "The lack of money is the root of all evil"
Yes, I do have to have money to be happy. Just enough to be comfortable and not have to worry about making ends meet. We all have our set backs, but struggling is not fun.
I agree with all the other's comments that money cannot buy you happiness..but it helps!..lol : )

No but it makes things so much easier. People without money tend to fight more and end up in divorces because of that fact. Money is a useful tool as long as its not the only reason your together.

It depends what you mean by "happiness". Superficial happines (though definitly not bad:you can have more fun with money) doesn't really last, but true happiness; things like a warm loving relationship with your family and freinds, and having Jesus as your personal saivior; that's real happiness, and it lasts forever.

Money is a funny thing. When you don't have much, you are constantly worried about it, about paying the bills, etc....but when you have it, it doesn't bring instant happiness, it just helps counteract the worry. If you are curious about how to live a good life in regards to money, I recommend Dave Ramsey's books.

money isnt about everything! money doesnt make a person happy although you can buy lots of things with it but it doesnt necessarily give s you true happiness. happiness is found within and with the people around you that you treasure the most.

I know people who have money who are unhappy BUT- I think a lot of problems that people have, stress wise, relate to coming up with meeting their financial problems- so it does address those problems.

My sister has money and has decided to let her personal problems make her and everyone around her miserable. I'm comfortable, not rich, but laugh with my friends every day!
