There is now the "Day After" pill which any woman who had intercourse within the past 24hrs(i do believe) can take instead of an abortion.
Except the Day After pill is a self-induced miscarriage, which still kills the life you are carrying. Do believe that it is right?

Yes I understand some of you have an idea where this topic can go, and I'm sure it can go in many places. But this does have to do with pregnancy, so I have put it here. Maybe it could be delt with through religion, I know some relgions have their different views, but I'm not asking for people's religious views, i'm asking for your 'personal views'. End of story.
I would like to also add that you may say there is a "chance" that when you use the pill, you are not pregnant, therefore you are not causing a miscarriage, but regardless, the pill works in the same manner. It is causing the effects of a miscarriage in order to prevent you from carrying a child you don't want.
If you took the pill immediately afterwards, assuming the condom broke and you want to be prepared for that, then no, I doubt the egg was fertalized within that time-frame. And using the pill then is only washing out the unfertilized egg.
And lastly, having your period is not killing a child. The egg is unfertilized

You obviously have no real knowledge about pregancy.
Say for example, you had unprotected sex last night and today you take the morning after pill: there is NO GUARANTEE THAT YOU ACTUALLY BECAME PREGNANT LAST NIGHT, OR WILL BECOME PREGNANT AS A RESULT OF LAST NIGHT.
The pill prevents an egg from being fertilized and attatching itself to the inside of your womb, therefore preventing pregnancy from even starting.
THEREFORE IT IS NOT A "LIFE". YOU ARE NOT ACTUALLY CARRYING A LIFE.
It PREVENTS YOU FROM BECOMING PREGANT!
It is not the same as an abortion, you have to be confirmed as ACTUALLY PREGNANT before you can have an ABORTION, which is a serious medical operation.
I suggest you find out some real facts from a qualified doctor before you get on your high-horse about killing etc. (inducing a miscarrige? what nonsense.)
So I'm guessing you are a very young teenanger, or otherwise incredibly ignorant.
All the best.

Your question should properly be placed in the category of ethics and religion. Your question can be answered after knowing the exact mechanism of the mornign after pill. Whether it kills off the sperm cells or tweaks the homones in such a way that the egg is not allowed to stick to the wall of the uterus, all these are important.
If your religious beliefs prohibit you from employing such means, you should insist on mechanical means such as his wearing a condom or abstain from intercourse.

No, it's completely fine. It's not a child at that stage, it's maybe a few cells at best. There's nothing wrong about taking the morning after pill, more people should.

I think that until the baby attaches itself to the womb, it cant get what it need to become a baby. It has to attach itself to start to live, so I don't think that is inducing a miscarriage. I have never used it though and don't plan on it either, but I think that it is a good idea for rape or stupidity. It better than abortion.

The day after pill prevents implantation, very similar to what an IUD does. It is a gray area and It should be used where other birth control has failed. (Condom breaks mainly)
Repeated use of the morning after pill does damage the body and makes it harder to become pregnant

The day after sex it is not even a pregnancy - the sperm may never connect with an ova, never implant in a uterus, it is simply causing the lining of the uterus to shed - it is not a pregnancy, and it is sometimes necessary for a woman to use it. I find it offensive to call it an induced miscarriage.

Wow you're really reaching now, aren't you?
Did you know that most FERTILIZED eggs just pass through the system without ever implanting. They're just flushed away during a woman's monthly cycle. So--and credit to George Carlin for pointing this out--any woman who's had more than one period while sexually active is a serial killer, right?

I don't agree with that pill....just as I don't abortion. I feel that the woman should be pracautious the days before. The morning after pill and the abortion is just an easy way to cover up careless mistakes that can be avoided if people would be more mature and careful with their sex lives.

i was offered the "day after" pill when i went to my health department for birth control. i said no thanks. and i am SO VERY thankful that i didn't, because i was pregnant. i kept waiting for my period so i could start my new birth control pills, and it never happened! i guess i would have never known that i was pregnant, but the thought that i could have possibly killed a baby would haunt me forever. i couldn't do it. if a woman is OK with killing her baby so early on, I'm in no position to tell her not to. but for me, there's no way. I'm due Sept. 7. :)
