i have never stayed at the music, but i did stay at All-Star Movies and Pop Century (which is also a value resort) They are all similar. Rooms are typically on the small side, but since we don't spend much time in our rooms, it is perfect for us.
Your best bet is to go to the Walt Disney World website and you can view pictures of the rooms & resorts.
Don't forget, if you want to "experience" the luxury resorts, you can go "visit". That is what we do. Take some time out, ride the monorail to the Grand Floridian and lounge in the lobby and enjoy the piano player. Or go to the Polynesian and check out the beach on the lagoon. You can walk freely around the public areas of the resorts. (obviously you can't go into guests rooms. but you can experience the atmosphere without breaking your bank)

The value resorts at Disney are very basic rooms and just offer something for the person wanting to stay in a budget and/or that doesn't plan to spend much time in their room. The rooms are a bit small, your food options are a rather limited, etc. But, it gives you a nice clean place to sleep.
All of the value resorts offer similar features and room sizes. The main difference between them is when they were built. Pop Century is your newest of the value resorts, followed by the Movies, Music and then Sports. Personally I've only stayed on night is each, just to see what they are like. The Sports was my least favorite, I liked Pop and Movies the best. The All Star Music resort does offer the family suites as well, which the other values don't offer. So, if you need two rooms for your familiy and/or want a little kitchen, it is nice.
In short, the value resorts are not going to have everything the moderates and dexlues have. But, you will get the same great service, a clean room and a nice place to sleep, it does the job just fine.

The Disney All-Star resorts are pretty nice. I have stayed in the All-Star Movies resort twice, and had a great time. Like every resort there are good and bad points.
Good - They are affordable. Staying here makes a Disney vacation affordable for just about anyone. The service is the same no matter which resort you are staying at. Food court is pretty good. Decor is out of this world. Each wing of the resort is done up in a different Disney movie decor (101 Dalmations, Toy Story, etc.) at the Movies resort. The Music resort is done up in a different type of music, and Sports different sports (obviously.) Even the staricases are done up right.
Bad - Rooms are small. If you need some room to manuver, this is not the resort for you. Food court is good, but no sit down restaurant. These resorts are geared for families, especially the families with small kids, so it is little loud. Pool is huge, but there is only one.
If you are going to Disney with kids, I highly recommend the All-Stars or the Pop Century. They are great hotels. I honestly had to kind of nit pick to find some bad things to say. If you are going without kids, I would try to stay at one of the moderate resorts, if possible, only for the quiet factor. Otherwise, the All-Stars are a great place to stay.
Have a great trip!!

Disney's All Star Resort is one of Disney's Value properties. Overall, it is a great resort. They are currently offering rooms for only $82 a night. My husband was a lifegaurd at this resort (Music specifically) and we have stayed there a few times. Like any resort, it has its pluses and minuses.
Pluses:
*It is a Disney Resort - even though you are spending a lot less for your stay, you are still getting the same great Disney service. The pools are creative (The Calypso pool at Music is shaped like a guitar!) and each All Star Resort (Movies, music and sports) are located within walking distance of each other - so you can pool hop to any style or themed pool you like.
*This resort is ideal for families traveling with children. They have tons of area for them to run around and play. The lobby has Disney cartoons playing 24 hours, and the food court is bound to have something any little picky eater will enjoy.
*You get to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, free Disney transportation, and free package deliver to your hotel from the parks
Minuses:
* Because you are paying less for night, the rooms are pretty basic. They have a mini fridge and cable TV - all the standard ammenities. But keep in mind that you won't be spending all that much time at the resort - so why spend $300 or more per night to just sleep and leave again in the morning?
*Your door faces outside - Delux Disney resort rooms open into a hallway or corridoor. All Star and Pop Century hotels open directly the outside - which can be a bit noisy during the day - but again, you probably won't be at your hotel much during the day anyway
*they are the hotels which are located the farthest from all Disney attractions - the closest Disney park is Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach Water Park. Your Disney bus ride may take a bit longer than if you stayed at a Delux resort on Bay Lake.
Overall, I think the All Star music is a great resort and I highly recommend Music! Music's Calypso pool is my favorite and they always keep it at a balmy 82 degrees!

I stayed at Disney's All-Star Music Resort and it was great. It is a wonderful hotel for a great value price. It is one of the cheapest Disney hotels. The other cheap ones are Disney's All-Star Movies, Sports, and Disney's Pop Century Resort. All of these and All-Star Music costs start at $82 a night. The great amenities of these resorts are pools, a food court, and more. Check it all out at http://www.waltdisneyworldresort.com !

Ok well the nicest All-Star resort you could go to would be the music (maybe movies also?) BUT DO NOT GO TO SPORTS. I went there for a competition and the pool was dirty and ewwwww.
