i have resently purchased a coat, which is an american size 2. I am just wondering what this converts to in British sizes.

Size 6 - add 4 to convert from US to UK.

that's true an US size 2 is the equivilant to UK size 8 now... it did used to be a UK size 6 but then they put the sizes up one due to people becoming bigger.

It literally should convert to a UK size 6 but i have found when buying US clothes in a size 2 they convert to a UK size 8 as ameican sizes are on the bigger size. i have bought loads of clothes in America and have always found their size 2 fits me perfectly and i am a UK size 8.

You must be aged 10! This is a minute size for a coat. Why buy a coat if you are not sure of the size?? next time check it out first.
