i think you just did...you've opened up and said it. so what if none of us responding actually know you...you had the courage to express your sexuality to strangers. i know that's easier to do because we don't know you, but it is a start. just take baby steps. I'm sure as time goes on it will be easier for you to let your loved ones know. I'm sure it's a very big deal for you...so take your time. you will know when it's time.

Hey! Jersey man! I know your gay! You've just opened the door. I hope you can get an answer on how to take that first step. But if I might say this, "Put one foot in front of the other! And soon you'll be walking out the door!"

I know Jerseyboy is gay!
I am just sorry for the others who don't!!!

Tell a loving older person in your family. Someone who you know does not have prejudices against the gay lifestyle.
By the way, I am a Christian and I don't, won't judge you. We are not all mean and hateful just so you know. I don't like to see silly gay people but mature gay people. Please do not act silly. One of my best friends died 22 years ago from Aids. Be careful! okay!

Be yourself and be calm. If anyone objects, just say "I'm sorry you feel that way" and walk away. Sorry but there still is a lot of ignorance left in this world. If you act calmly and natural, things should be okay. I really wish you the best of luck. I pray that your friends and family fully accept you for who you are and not what they want you to be. Go ahead, open that door!

the best way to do this is to become comfortable with yourself. then you can become comfortable with others. if you need further support and advice, i encourage you to join a support group i have created through yahoo groups. it is a free group where teens can go and feel comfortable about talking about these kinds of things and receive helpful advice. the website is www.groups.yahoo.com/groups/
help4teens come and join. there is not much there right now but the more people we get the more help we can give. hope to see you there. good luck.

First "try" coming out with someone you trust, then to your family, let them know you want to sit down and talk about something with them, you could have your speech written out, it will help you get everything out - you will be nervous, and for them to read later.
Who loves you ~~ loves you, and you have to be true to yourself first.
God Bless.
