Do a lot of my chemistry lectures online... teaching myself can be hard - please help...

You have an aqueous solution of each of the following two compounds. Write out the exact name of the precipitate that forms. If you decide that no precipitate would form, just type NR. (Do not capitalize the names of compounds and use a space before and after any needed roman numerals.)

I have googled "solubility of cobalt phosphate" and got the answer. All ammonium compounds are soluble.

Over to you!

All ammonium salts are soluble & all phosphates are non-soluble. So in this equation only one percipitate forms.

CoSO4 + (NH4)3PO4 = Co3(PO4)2 + (NH4)2SO4

Percipitate is Cobalt (II) Phosphate (v)

a million) Mole fraction implies to carry close the range of moles of ethanol and moles of water (assuming that the solvent is water) because: molar fraction of ethanol = moles of ethanol / (moles of ethanol + moles of water)..... (Eq1) 2) Density of answer is 0.964 g/mL If answer is 3.05 M in ethanol in accordance to the definition of molarity, the volume of answer may nicely be assumed a million liter, for this reason: d = m/V we remedy for mass: m = dV = (0.964 g/mL)(1000 mL) = 964 g on the different hand, 3.05 moles of ethanol (remember that molecular mass of ethanol = 40 5 g/mol) are equivalent in mass to : m = nM = (3.05 moles)(40 5 g/mol) = 137.25 g 3) we may be able to substract from the entire mass of answer, the mass of ethanol: m water = 964 g - 137.25 g = 826.seventy 5 g 4) Now we may be able to compute the moles of water: n = 826.seventy 5 g / 18g/mol = 40 5.ninety 3 moles 5) finally, we may be able to compute the molar fraction in accordance to equation (Eq1): molar fraction = 3.05 / (3.05 + 40 5.ninety 3) = 3.05 / 40 8.ninety 8 = 0.0622 that is it!
