Point No.1:His name is Federer , not Federererer.

Next,he isnt playing because for him now the top priority is the French Open. The reason was that he wants to be well rested for the ATP Masters Series in Indian Wells and Miami, and as aforesaid-French Open.
And as far as I know,Davis Cup isnt a top priority for him,he runs hot and cold on the importance of the cup.Anyways, its his custom , to take a long break after a Slam win,and After he won the Australian Open without losing a set, dont u think he deserves it?

For Federer it's more important to concentrate on his own career rather than worrying about Swiss tennis.

He does enough for this country's reputation, so it's OK he doesn't play in the Davis Cup regularly.

Greetings from Switzerland!

Federer knows the Davis Cup is pointless and out of reach for now; the Swiss team isn't the best and they're likely to get booted out early. He is preparing for the French Open because its the one Grand Slam he hasn't gotten and Nadal is currently the "King of Clay" so he is getting ready for clay; Nadal isn't playing because he isn't ready to lose his title to Federer so he's getting ready for the French too.

he's preparing for the french open.
same thing with nadal, he's not on the spanish team for the davis cup.
they're probably both giving the french open their all. the french open is pretty much the only chance anyone is going to get to beat federer in a grand slam this year, and by anyone i mean nadal.

He said it didn't fit in with his plans for the season, but he would play later in the year. I don't know what happened to Wawrinka, though, as he was originally due to be in the team, but withdrew at the last minute... I guess he must be injured.
