It all depends on how truthful the child has been in the past. Some kids are really very honest and open with their parents/guardians and some are not.If you have a good kid that has always been up front with you, then 11:00 would be late enough. It would also depend on where they were going.Movie etc. that was getting out late would qualify for 11:00. If they are just hanging out as long as they were at someones house that you trust 10:00 would be fine.Good luck!

it all depends on how responsible they are and how they act. some 16 year olds need a real early curfew like 8:30 or 9:00. however for the more responsible on better behaved, i would say 10:30 or 11:00 would be just fine. remember, they still have to get up for school in the mornings.

First off...it depends on where you live lol and how the community is lol. I live in Cambridge ON. HICK TOWN lol..so my curfew was 10:30 weeknights and 12/1 on weekends..depending on where I was and w hat I was doing. There was never really any crime in Cambridge so my mom didnt have to worry. But if you live somewhere like Toronto or like New York or something...My 16 year old gurl would not be allowed out that late unless she checked in all the time to let me know where she was. Buy her a cell phone and tell her to call you whenever and wherever for anything so they know that they are there for you.

At 16 mine was 10pm and went up every 30 minutes, that was for dates. But I could be out as late as necessary when I was working, which I resented. My curfew never went above 11:30 before I moved out. Which I did when I was 18. No reason to live under a roof with strict rules for one thing and let it slide for another.
Not to mention, by 10pm I had already gotten into all the mischief I was going to get into anyway...staying out later wouldn't have made a difference.

6.30? You have got to be kidding! If I had a 16 year old son it'd be 9.30 weekdays, 10 at weekends. He regular breaks it because it's not fair, and most of his friends are going out that time to hang out! Understand he is a teenager and he needs SOME freedom. 10 is a great curfew at 16-17 imo.

In the evening? Is that to be home for dinner and then he can go back out? If he has to stay in at 6:30 that is ridiculous! On school nights it should be, after homework is done, about 10. Though during the school year my daughter needs to start for home at 9, and so does her boyfriend. Sometimes 9:30. Or weekends and summer, well, the depends on where he is and what he is up to. Case by case, no set time in that case.

Mine is the same as my brother's when he was 16 and that is 9:30 school nights and 10:00 weekends. Even though me and my brother don't get into trouble my mom and dad want us to be treated equal. So they gave me his curfew from when he was 16 and it doesn't bother me.

I would say maybe 10 on the weekdays and 11 on the weekends.. Look and see if there is a cerfew in the city or town for underage teens. If it is one which is probably true. Go by the cerfew on the weekends. But also those cerfew is like you break it you can go to jail or aressted. so good luck!
