I need some advice on mousetraps. I want one that doesn't hurt or kill the mouse, but traps it until I'm able to set the mouse loose in the bush (away from houses); also, I don't want to have to touch the mouse at all, so no traps that involve that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I like the way you think. I do not want to hurt them either but do not want them in my house or yard. Don't ever buy a glue trap. This is so inhumane, for an animal to be glued down and struggling to get away makes me want to cry. Buy a small animal trap, then set them free out in the country.

I had a mouse problem and used the "kind" traps - the ones with a strong adhesive in them. The mouse got caught by only the tail and he went crazy. I had to use a wine bottle to knock him out, but he came to he ran behind some bookcases and I couldn't get to him. I finally had to kill him. It was one of the most horrible experiences I ever had - and I'm sure it was for him. Use the traditional mousetraps and call an exterminator to remove them when the mouse is caught.

Kristy, Kristy, Kristy....
It's a mouse, kill it already!
Here's a general scenario for you from one who lives in the woods (me).
The mouse came to your house for a reason, and that reason is that said mouse just happened to have a strong belief that it was more comfy in your house than it was wherever it came from. So if you take it outside and let it go somewhere else, it's just as likely to find it's way back to your house, or to someone elses house. Mice are creatures of convenience, they will go to where they are the most comfortable and where there is a ready source of food. If you make it comfortable for them, they will continue to camp out at your house and eat your food crumbs from the floor while you aren't looking. If you release them back into the wild, you are just adding to the breeding population and creating even more baby mice for someone else to deal with.
So try this at home kids... Buy several packs of mouse traps (the deadly kind), they are really cheap, even cheap enough to throw away after each use. Place them in the quiet areas of your home with a little dab of peanut butter on them as bait. When you hear a snap! go and pick up the trap from the "clean" end, away from the mouse, and simply throw the whole trap away, mouse and all. That way you don't have to touch it, and you aren't adding to the problem by releasing them into the wild.
I hope this helps. My girlfriend thinks it's fun to trap them alive and then flush them down the toilet while they are still alive.
Rats are dirty, kill them.

You must be the nicest person on earth. And I just thought I knew who that was. But I cannot understand why even the nicest person on earth would want to let a mouse live. They will leave the bush, and come right back to your house. They are deadly and carry disease. They destroy things in your house. WHAT ARE THEY GOOD FOR? I am not a bad person, but I say kill them. In the past, they have damaged my things.

Oh...Well they make those...Do a search in the Internet. But personally I prefer the satisfying snap of a traditional trap in the middle of the night! There is something a little sadistically enjoyable about knowing that I "got one" as I drift back asleep. My wife hates it.

There are traps that will let rodents in but not out, with no harm to them. They are metal with a little flap that you can let them out. Ask your local pet store,

Get yourself a playful kitten. Declaw the little guy and he'll catch the mouse and it'll be his new best friend. They can then take turns pooping all over your house.
