Just joking.
This is a picture of an upper middle class neighborhood in Tennessee. How do neighborhoods in Britain compare? Do any look like this?

Upper middle class?
Oh Tennessee - FYI Tennessee is VERY cheap to live in. I live in New York State and those houses would not be in a middle class area of kind! You cant get a 3 bedroom ranch for under 250,000 around here and I am not even in NYC or close to it!

I don't know what your point is.

They just look like houses to me.

Are you suggesting we live in poorer housing or something ?

I don't want to live on one of those wooden shacks thankyou. I've quite happy in my 17th century farmhouse that is full of history and guarenteed to be still here after you, I, and all my grandchildren are dead.

You'd never be able to compare a picture of my house with these, you can't see it from any road, its secluded and in its own grounds.

Whats your point ?

wahts all that dirt and oil or burnt area on the grass. Do you torch cars at night or something ?

You'll find thousands of homes like that ,some you can't even view there that private, even alot nicer because funnily enough we have alot of people in the UK that have alot of money and some that live in several million pound flats. You will however find it difficult to find property that is built out of wood like in the the US.

I would have guessed the pic was taken in the rich neighborhood of east London!

Some do, some are disgusting, full of graffiti, junkies, and gangs of people who want to smash ya teeth in. but the majority are nice pleasant . every city/town has its bad areas and good areas. britain is a very beautiful place full of kind, considerate people. the north of england is a very freindly place. most people in britain are proud, especailly me

We are a very old culture and have traditions and buildings going back a thousand years. We have houses of all shapes and sizes. Our neighbourhoods are like most civilised countries: they vary from the abjectly poor (which you must have also) to the very rich. In this country we consider it vulgar to boast about size and wealth, we prefer modesty in all things.

i live in Malta and in Malta we don't have houses like in England but in Malta the houses are the ground floor and sometimes there is the first floor or the roof it depends on how big is the house but in Malta we don't have ATTICS but only one house is like a British house which is in San Gwann which is not a house but a factory

We know that a dirt area doesn't look particularly appealing, we prefer to either keep it to all grass or even some nice flowers

Not likely. We have a lot less land per head over here so property is expensive and land is at a premium. This is the sort of house a middle class family might own if they live in London

And this is in the countryside

But that is for the well off. A lot of people have to live in places like this

I believe they have fewer of these:

That 'get a big house and put it right next to another big house' has always mystified me. Is land really in such short supply?
