Solve for the values of θ between 180 degrees and 270 degrees

1. If cotθ = ¼ , find cscθ
2. If secθ = -1/2 , find cosθ
3. If secθ = -3 , find tan θ
4. If cos θ = -3/5 , find cscθ

If you think the other numbers are hard to answer, you could at least try to answer the others....

Please help me with this cause I really don't know how to solve these problems

I will use x to denote θ because it is a pain.

I will give the following method for you to use.

Note: when I say inversed, I mean the top and the bottom numbers of a fraction is flipped over. On a scientific calculator you will find the x with a little -1 power sign. This button does all the inverse fractions that you will need.

cotx=cosx/sinx i.e. tanx inversed
secx=1/cosx
cscx=1/sinx

1. Find x
cotx=1/4 --->0.25^-1 = 4
tanx=4
tan^-1 x=A degrees

cscx=1/sinx
thus
sinA = B
using the x^-1 button on B you will have cscA i.e. your answer.

The other questions use something similar to this or requires you to do something similar to this. You may have to inverse first or later. With the method I have given above it should give you enough information to do the other questions without any problems.

Cotangent is the RECIPROCAL of the Tangent

Cosecant is the RECIPROCAL of the Sine and similarly for the remaining terms which you should have the definition of.

An easy way to solve these problems is e.g.

Check in your trigonometrical ratios for the equivalent ANGLE when the Cotangent = 1/4 (Hint: The tangent is the Reciprocal of 1/4)

Having found the ANGLE simply check for the Cosecant of that Angle. (Hint: The Cosecant is the Reciprocal of the Sine)

Similarly for the remainder. Remember the QUADRANTS (All Sine Tan Cos) and the + and - signs to arrive at the angles between 180 and 270 degrees.
