Honda spend millions of dollars building and designing cars... they have engiineers with more qualifications than you have years on the planet..and you honestly think you can do better...

oh give me a break...

you want more power.. put 4* in it instead of unleaded.
you want even more power, add 1 pint of methanol to the tank...

going fast is all about efficiency. fuel in, exhaust gasses out... DO NOT BUY A K&N air filter... induction roar is not power...

your honda isnt really do anything to able.. its all set at the factory to rules and emission guidelines.

you make it accellerate faster, youll lose out on top end, you dont get anything for free... power costs, and you cant afford it..and if you dont tell your ins co, when you crash it, and they find out its been modded...oh a world or grief awaits you. and they will not pay out, as they always ask..has teh car been modified or altered in any way...

and sorry sean, but sticking furry dice in teh window isnt tuning. gas flowing the head, porting teh exhaust tracts and inlets and remapping teh injection system..well thats a start... then you fit a supercharger... NOT a turbo...

so, for your own safety take all those copies of the fast and the furious back to teh DVD shop... and stop buying max power magazine...

get a bigger engine from around same year, fit it but keep the head of the original, engine number will still read as a 1.3 but really u got a 1.8 or sumthin goin in there, so no need to pay higher insurance and no need to tell anu1 u done it. ive got a 1.4 98 civic with no performance mods, the accelaration is good until u get to 40 then it slows down but 8 seconds to 60 aint bad, top speed of 112 is a bit boring but speed aint everythin. civics are nippy cars, they are designed for realiability and there engines are amazingly prone to nearly any thrashing. Be happy that u got a 1.3 17 year olds aint even got 1000cc, id be happy with what u got but if u wanna get more power just put the bigger engine in n keep the original head.

Be very careful, as a novice driver you would be foolish to try to make a car more powerful than it is intended to be.
And remember, if you modify the car you HAVE to tell your insurance company - if you don't, your claim would be invalid if you had an accident. Then the thousands you paid to insure the car will be lost.
Believe me, I have a 19 year old son and we've "been there, done that". Forget about powerful revved-up cars and concentrate on being a safe driver - for your sake and for everyone else's.
Sorry if this isn't the answer you wanted.

There is a lot you can do, but you get what you pay for. This means if you want a substantial amount of power gain, you need to spend a substantial amount of money. Not to judge you, but at 17 (Im also 17), you wont really need a ton of power because you are just beginning, like you said.

well you could polish the heads ... add a new exhaust . sparco is recommended , performance chip , a spoiler will give you better dynamics and gas mileage , a body kit also helps with speed , the least wind pressure the better , a transmission upgrade , a racing flywheel , carbon drive shaft ... octane gas , put STP in your gas tank to clean your injectors . thers lots of stuff , Honda's have allot of potential , you can't find most of this stuff at a auto-parts retailer such as auto zone , but try summit racing .. go to www.summitracing.com and order a free catalog

do not even try....Hondas have ALOT of potential...considerring i own one...but a 1.3 is just not worth it..its like gettin a bike 2 outrun a superbike...not goin 2 happen...jus wait some time nd get urself a decent engine...if ur plannin on stickin with honda...jus do a engine swap...tryin 2 stay single cam? geta d16z6 125hp 106ft/lbs torque vtec..or get a d16y8 127 hp 107 ft/lbs torque vtec...or just get a dual cam...go b series...but jus dun bother with that 1.3 liter...

Install a turbo kit, AEM cold air intake, a nice big muffler tip, body kit, a nice spoiler, a new hood, SPARCO racing seats, new paint job, some new speakers, and sub woofers.....
