G'day,
The distance is about 65Km (abt 43min) via Western Ring Road.
You can use the service of www.whereis.com.au where you can specify both airports as the place of interest and click the "Get Direction" button. It will also give you a GPS-like instructions on how to get from one end to another.
You can actually get a shuttle bus between airports. Just check www.melair.com.au.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Jetstar is the only airline that flies to Avalon, if you are flying into Avalon and have to travel to Tullamarine airport, it is about a 43 min drive and is about 65.37 kilometers.
the first site here is www.whereis.com you can use it to find a map or directions
the second is the specific link to Avalon airport to Tullamarine or Melbourne airport.
from Tullamarine airport to Avalon, it is the same directions and route, only in reverse.
Hope this helps

I'm not sure that you can get a direct link, but if you are unfortunate enough to fly to Avalon the bus trip to Melbourne City is around 40 minutes.
If you are flying domestic fly Virgin instead of Jest Star

Probably around 60km, all on freeways. There are shuttle buses serving both airports from Melbourne CBD, so you could use those to connect (I'm not aware of direct services). That would cost ~A$30 one way.

65 KM.
And, don't take the toll. It's really expensive and it's taking more time! (it's faster to the city but not to Avalon).
