Yes and No. If I spend allot of time(and money) on a gift for a pet, it ends up ignored. It always seems to be the 1 dollar stuffed mouse or the 50 cent stuffed bear that gets played with.

My old cat played with sweet wrappers when she was a kitten, the cats we've got now (2) only play with each other, and any mice that happen to be in the area. None of them ever had any interest in anything shop bought.
Good question, just shows what a rip off cat toys are.

(a million) Fill a Ziploc bag with catnip, poke a gaggle of small holes interior the bag, and then stick the bag interior an previous sock. Tie a knot interior the sock so as that they'd't get right of entry to the catnip. no longer in basic terms do they react to the catnip, yet extremely some cats circulate nutty for the sound of crinkly plastic. My oldest cat is going loopy for the sock, he bites it, kicks it, licks it, rubs on it, throws it interior the air, chases it when I throw it, etc! The oils in catnip do circulate previous and lose performance, so which you will desire to make a clean catnip sock as quickly as each few weeks. And observe that I reported to apply an previous sock, simply by fact your cats will wreck it. quite plenty each cardboard scratcher, great toy, or piece of kitty furnishings you get interior the save comes with a loose bag of catnip. I save up the luggage to make catnip socks, yet you will desire to purchase a bin of catnip too. (2) Take a paper towel, bunch it collectively interior the middle & tie a string around it (it would sorta appear like a huge butterfly). Use a protracted piece of string - a minimum of two or 3 ft. that is going to circulate in a fashion which could truly excite some cats, even though it may additionally finally end up making a multitude while they shred it! (3) i alter bins and paper bags utilising save-offered toys. the main universal one I made became a tall upside-down container that I decrease slats interior the front of, then linked a cat toy interior... the toy became a ball of fluff on the top of an elastic string, purely dangling freely from the middle so it may sway and seize their pastime. So in fact, the cats would desire to work out the toy interior the container, and would desire to in wonderful condition their paws interior to bat at it and all, however the slats have been sufficiently small that they could no longer get interior and 'seize' it. My cats took pastime as quickly as I set it up, and prefer stalking it from afar.

Mine won't touch them either. They'll play with the wrapper's they come in. Oscar won't play. He's too cool for that. He just looks at the toy, then looks at you and walks away. Jade on the other hand plays with anything but store bought toys. Her favourite is plastic forks. So, I got a box of them and just tossed it on the floor. She's opened it up and every now and then, takes out one, puts the box back in it's hiding place under the couch and plays with that fork for a few days.
By the way, awesome names for your cats. I love people who give them unique names and don't embarrass them with names like fluffy and princess.

Not really but Bandit LOVES catnip and I grow it in the garden and then dry it in the one cupboard and when I open it he tries to jump in.Smokey loves to sit in the laundry basket or box. The do not and will not eat treats of any kind either like Pounce or those dried little kibbles.

All my cats play with storebought toys. One4 of my cats Mason, he plays with anything, he thinks he is a dog. We have a big grey mouse that he always drops in my dogs waterbowl. Good luck on getting them to play with storebought toys.

They like some of them.
The small fur covered mice seem to go over well, but I live in the country and we have a big problem with mice coming in when it's cold, so they usually find a mouse, then my daughter or I have to catch it and put it outside.

No way. Like kids at Christmas prefer to play with the boxes their toys came in. Mine like tearing wall-paper off and playing with that.
What lovely names you've got for your kitties.
