Taping is a definate...but take it one step farther and score it first. Use a razor knife and cut along the line you want to cut...THEN tape along the cut, to the inside and then cut it.

Use a high speed bandsaw with a diamond blade and lubricate the part with 2,1-dimethyl triacetone butyl solution while cutting it to reduce friction and remove heat that would otherwise cause cracking and unwanted chipping. Or use a 2 kilowatt CO2 laser or a 100W Nd:YAG cutting laser. That will make the cut very nice under a microscope.

try taping the area that needs to be cut ------ first try a trial pc to ensure this works before cutting into the main piece

tap is ok but also try reversing the blade on your saw.
