Call r = d/2 the radius of the base of the cilinder and theradius of the hemisphere

The hight of the cylinder is d/2 and its volume pi*d^2/4*d/2=pi*d^3/8

The volume of the hemisphere =2/3pi d^3/8 = pi *d^3/12

the total volume is d^3*pi*5/8 so d^3 = 880/21 *8/(5pi) =21.34m^3 so d=2.77m
