I am sure that eventually we will have one country called Europe and each country will be a state. I am also sure that America is scared of this as they have already tried to stop the countries of the EU building a Eurpean army.

That's the way things are heading. There's virtually no political, financial, trade or travel restrictions within Europe. Laws are standardised, there'a a European Parliament, a single currency. The only thing that separates one country from another are the national governments. In many ways we already have a USE and I guess it's only a matter of time before Europe becomes like the US with one central government and each state / country having it's own government with limited powers. It's already happened in the UK with the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish have their own governments.

I don't think America will be scared as they'll still be a world superpower but they'd rank second in terms of military power, wealth, economy, population etc.

In any event, even if a USE were formed tomorrow it would be centuries before people accepted it. The Union between Scotland and England has just celebrated it's 300th birthday but each country is still fiercely independent.

In 2005, Bush signed the North American Union Argeement. That means...that paves the way for America, Mexico and Canada to become one nation...paving the way for the New World Order.

Well, there's one thing about European countries that will prevent them. It's that there will be no "European Culture" for everyone to identify with. America has a ideal that everyone can identify with. Europeans have large number of different cultures that conflict with each other. The French and Germans each are highly arrogant. The British are very proud without being arrogant. They along with other countries will want to be THE moving force in this European Union.

I'm there with Texas Rose on this. By 2010 is the supposed date that the North American Union will be under way. Google North American Union and see what it says.

It would not be a surprise to see Europe merge into one union to counter the massive power of the US. The world probably needs it.
