G'day,
Bookmark is what people usually known as Favorites in Internet Explorer. It is usually the term used by Netscape or Mozilla where user can save the websites that they usually visited, so users do not have to re-type the whole web-address again and again.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Suppose you are reading a huge book at night and you feel sleepy, you dont want to remember the page number so you fold the current page or insert some paper or pen as a mark. This is the actual definition of a bookmark but in relation to the web it means a shortcut memory storage so that you reach the site just by clicking it.

It's just a way to remember a site you've been to. When you see one you like and would like to return to again, add it as a bookmark. To retrieve it, look at the list of bookmarks.
From your question, I'm guessing English is not your native language. A "bookmark" refers to a piece of paper or other material that you put in a book so you can find your place later!

The question seems a little vague but I assume that you are referring to a bookmark in Mozilla Firefox.
Bookmarks are the name for Favourites in Firefox, they serve the exactly the same purpose, just with a different name.
