Do you know any info about Fountain INN S.C.?

I have 2 gr.sons.moving there in June with there mother and i would like to know about the schools,after school activities,how the neighborhood is,crime rate,drug activity.other children in the area they will be in 7th&8th grade ages 12&13 I appreciate any info at all ty Kathy around chelli crt. Hope this helps.... Ft Inn is a very rural city in a very nice county in SC. It is located partly in Laurens Co, mostly Greenville Co. It is small so it has a very proactive police department with minimal crime. The school they would be attending should be Bryson Elementary and the high school will be Hillcrest. I would say they are not exceptional schools as far as education, but they are decent with low student crime. Nothing like what you can imagine in the big cities. Ft Inn is quite close to Greenville SC one of the fastest growing city and counties in the State. Also one of the fastest growing in the nation. It has a semi low crime rate and to be honest, as long as you stay away from the seedier parts of town, you will be fine. Both the Gville Co and Gville City Police are very good and very proactive. As far as Ft Inn itself, I would have to know what part of Ft Inn. We are actually located in the unicorporated city (ie we have a Ft Inn address but dont live within the city) and are in a very low crime district (main crime being things like damage to property like mail boxes). The homes in the area we are in are from $220,000 to $400,000. The incorporated city has a few really nice neighborhoods, but it is basically older large homes on the main street and smalled 'mill hill' type house elsewhere. I would say all in all, things should be ok. If you are not from here and wish to come see your kids or your children fly out to see you, Greenville Spartanburg airport is only about a 20 minute drive. After school activities are numerous and there is an after school program called Spikes located in Ft Inn city itself. (Bryson Elementary should be aware of it).There are lots of middle school students about as I have 2 nephews 13 and 10. The neighborhoods are children friendly and its the type of place you can let your kids play in the street. Drug activity is minimal but it does exist as there are 1 or 2 low income area's. But, once again, there is a big police presence and they keep the activity ot a minimum.
