I just started playing it and i don't know if you can actually play a vampire or if you can get bitten by a vampire or if you can't play them or what

Yes you can become a vampire. To do this you need to go downtown and wait for a Count/Countess to show up. After that you need to talk with the Count/Countess untill they like you enough to bite you.
However if you go to this sight: www.modthesims2.com you should be able to find a hacked object that makes your sims into vampires just by clicking on it.
The gyspy matchmaker sells a potion that makes a vampire sim turn back into a normal sim

there are 4 possibilies for your sim to become a vampire (person of the night). You have to meet (or date) one of these four possible ways:
1. See a male vampire
2. See a female vampire
3. Date any vampire (either male or female)
4. When the vampire comes on the lot, they will come over to your sim automatically and bite them in the neck

You become a vampire by making friends with a Grand Vampyre at a community lot. They will bite you, and you are now a vampire. You can also bite other Sims by clicking on them when you are in control of your vampire Sim and choosing "Bite Neck". You can call the Gypsy Matchmaker and buy a potion... I can't remember what it's called, but it is quite obvious. Once it is in your inventory, click on yourself and choose the option that will allow you to drink your potion.
PS If you have a vampire, remember to buy a coffin - if they are exposed to daylight, their Needs will drop and they will soon die!

Yep, that's exactly top. you're able to be able to desire to make the vampire one in all your sim's pals. in no way tried it till now, yet i think of the alternative comes up if the vampire and the sim get alongside nicely and are doing something at the same time (at nighttime, of direction...)

yes ya can become a vampire! if u do buy the special potion from the gipsy matchmaker and drink it and u will turn back to normal!

yes you can.Click on the phone then select "Service" and then "Matchmaking Service" a gipsy woman is going to visit you.Click on her and select "Buy Potion..."and then Something that says somethind like "vampo.........".
