How to make tiles/patterns from images using photoshop cs2?

well i wanna know how do i make tiles/patterens background from images using photoshop cs2! no pixel but image - u know those vintage gothic patterns in tiles/patterns!

import the image of the pattern you want to use on its own layer.

draw a box around it using the marquee tool.

go to edit > Define Pattern and push okay.

now you can use it as a pattern.
