Why cannot I connect to norton update via a Speedtouch 510 router?

OS is XP SP2, speedtouch 510 is running uk4.2.7.16 firmware.
After trying to access the internet the speedtouch setup server freezes. the internet connection status also freezes

Many people have trouble with speedtouch. In fact living here in France I was told to steer clear of it, I use a Belkin F5D7633, far more reliable, however you have got it so I guess you are using IE, try using firefox, updating your IE or using another internet system.
Of course you COULD contact Norton on the net.
