The bass players surname is Fratelli and they all had their names in their phonebooks listed as Jon Fratelli, Mince Fratelli and Barry Fratelli.

Bobnotts - fratello is Italian for brother, the plural is fratelli.
I just assumed the band wanted to call themselves "the Brothers" but the Italian isn't quite right. Don't know about the Goonies idea though.

When they were on Johnathan Ross they said that they didn't name themselves after the family in The Goonies. Dont know why they ARE called it though.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that "Fratellis" means friends or brothers in another language. I suppose the Latin word is something like "frat" which means brother (fraternity, fraternal etc.)
